At the start of December, you will still have details to oversee, perhaps to get your house or apartment ready for guests. You are known to have a sharp mind and critical eye, for you are an idealist and a perfectionist, but you also have a soft one that makes you want to take good care of your family. This is what is so loveable about you.

That new moon received wonderful vibrations from Mars in Aquarius, so you will be carrying the clipboard, getting estimates, and checking prices. Fortunate Jupiter, now in your house of earned income, will help you too, so if you need to make changes, improvements, or repairs, it appears you will have the money you need to cover those costs. I am a bit concerned about Neptune’s position, however, so watch for difficulties with water, in any of its forms, from rain coming in the window or a flood in the basement, to mold in an apartment you are looking at to rent (ask the landlord to check), to unsafe drinking water. Be careful.

Alternatively, Neptune governs the fog or mist, so you may be uncertain or unclear about something that occurred some time ago within your family. (The fourth house rules your physical home, but also rules your ancestors and family, and particularly puts your mother and father in a prominent role.) In this case, a 90-degree hard angle of the new moon to Neptune tends to work like a lever to force truth to pop up.

Mercury will retrograde later this month, December 19 to January 8, but you will start to feel the effects much earlier, near December 5. Mercury rules Virgo, so when Mercury retrogrades you tend to feel the delays and confusion more than most. This time Mercury will retrograde in your fifth house of love, creativity, pregnancy, birth, and the care for your children. You may change your mind about a certain love alliance, or may want to go back to a former love. If you are still in love, by all means, call. Or, for example, you may have new thoughts of how to improve a creative project, and perhaps change it in some way.

Although Mercury is retrograde and can bring a host of frustrations, this month will be special in that it has many sparkling aspects too, so I feel you will enjoy this month despite all the little delays and confusing situations that could come up now and then.

If you are selling property, hoping to rent an apartment, or making design changes or repairs, you will be able to settle on a very good deal on this day. Saturday, December 10, will be a hard day when Saturn conjoins the Sun. You may be worried about the well-being of a male family member, and if something comes up, you will want to help. You might be with medical personnel this month – as a Virgo you are always cool under all circumstances, so your assistance will be taken with gratitude. On December 24, we have a very rare and unusual aspect, made up of Saturn and Uranus in perfect sync. This is the first of three of these meetings of Saturn and Uranus, and it’s a lovely trend starting now that will flow through the entire length of 2017, by meeting two more times, on May 18 and November 11. These two planets move ever so slowly, so they don’t have to be exact to bring their benefits. This is an aspect of hope and optimism.

Uranus is the wrecking ball planet, coming in with a wide swing, taking out all that is in its path with a blink of an eye. We rarely see Uranus when he goes on one of his rampages. He attacks what he deems of no future value to you, and while you may not initially see the wisdom in Uranus’ decisions, in time, you will. What is special about this aspect is that Saturn is just the opposite. He is cautious, slow, and not a bit impulsive. Saturn will stabilize all that he touches, including the brave changes you make brought on by Uranus. Saturn’s job is to build structure, even out of chaos if necessary.

This time, remarkably, these two planets won’t make you tense, but rather will bring happy surprises. You have dealt with wide swings with money, due to Uranus in your eighth house of other people’s money, regarding such possible areas as credit cards, student loans, venture capital, commissions, insurance, and more. You went from feast to famine and back to feast at times, and it’s been unsettling. Uranus has been in your financial sector since March 2011, and will remain there until March 2019, but by now you are getting very good at bringing the ends, where the extremes lie, into the middle. You don’t like wide swings like you have experienced, but many of the causes of these swings were out of your control. This year, you will be able to stabilize things to keep you from those occasional difficult financial weeks.

You have another reason for optimism. Uranus has been retrograde since July 29, 2016, and will go direct this month on December 29. From then on, you will find it easier to control your financial flow. Truly, it will be a relief.
