If you have been keeping up with astrological trends, you may have heard the exciting news that you have been crowned the celestial favorite this year, having welcomed Jupiter, giver of gifts and luck, into Libra as recently as last month on September 9. Jupiter will remain with you for the coming twelve months, plenty of time to enjoy your reign and see a dream you’ve held in your heart come true. Jupiter comes by every twelve years, so you’ve not had this privilege in a very long time. This is birthday month, so the universe has planned a wonderful golden gift certificate in the form of a new moon in Libra that appeared September 30, just a few tiny hours before the start of October.

That new moon in Libra, 9 degrees, will be the finest new moon of all 2016, for it comes chockfull of goodies for you. That new moon will arrive with a powerful entourage – the mighty Sun and Jupiter, planet of good fortune, and both will work to help you in every way possible. Every month I suggest ways to use a new moon, but this one is different – you can direct its energy in any part of your life you desire.

A new moon is strong for ten or twelve days but with each passing day it gets weaker, until it gets within range of the full moon when all of the energy of the new moon will have been spent. Until then, you will have the edge over every other sign. This is your time of reward, so decide what you want most and take steps in early October to go after it. You don’t have to actually grasp your wish, but you do have to plant the seed of the start of your quest. Your desire can have to do with a new or ongoing relationship, career, money, and your home – you name it. Your thoughts will be powerful, and you now can manifest your desire if you are willing to take the first steps.

This particular new moon would be the right time for any interviews you want to schedule in early October. I say this because you have Jupiter, the planet of gifts and luck, conjunct the moon. The moon naturally rules your tenth house fame and honors in your solar chart. I particularly like October 4 and 5 for any career interview or presentation.

Within the new moon period, October 11 will be a blue-ribbon five-star day for you, when Mercury will conjunct Jupiter, an annual event. In your solar chart, Mercury rules your house of love and fun, and Jupiter rules your house of travel. You may take a long romantic weekend away, spanning Friday, October 7 through Tuesday, October 11, and if you go, you’ll be so glad you did it. If you can’t take any time off, you might be able to use this day for a meeting to meet with your out-of-town client and come back with the order. When Jupiter is involved, it’s far easier than usual to attract money or to enjoy luxury. You may get special news on this day, for both planets are in Libra, and Mercury rules news and communication. What news you do hear will have you dancing in the streets.

Mars has recently entered Capricorn, which is news. Almost all year, since March 5, Mars has remained in Sagittarius until September 27. In Sagittarius, Mars had you very busy, and you had so many details to handle. You also tended to travel far and wide, and short distances too, but that trend will wind down for now as you focus on your apartment or house.

When it comes to home, you may be cleaning, doing repairs, painting, renovating, or you even may be moving house. The actions you take in October may be part of a bigger plan that you will initiate after the year-end holidays, starting at the very beginning of January. Pluto will be in your fourth house of home too, along with Mars, and that will give you the power to completely rejuvenate your life with a new lifestyle and manner of living. It’s exciting!

I suppose every story needs a villain. This month it comes in the form of a full moon in Aries, 23 degrees on October 16.  This full moon has difficult aspects on all sides, and falling in your opposite sign it appears that your partner, in love or business, will make you upset.

This full moon is conjunct the volatile, unpredictable planet Uranus – with Uranus you never know what to expect, and it is never anything you would be looking at as possible. The full moon will also be in hard angle to Pluto and Mars both in your home sector. Something going on at home appears to coming to a close, but not without dramatic emotional feelings being expressed.

There are many possibilities concerning this full moon. Your family may voice opinions about your romantic partner that you don’t appreciate, triggering an argument. Mars will be conjunct Pluto so someone at home may be acting in a forceful manner. Or, it may be that your physical home – your house or apartment – will bring news that will be jarring. You might be upset with your contractor or decorator, or with your landlord. Keep calm, for you can have a good ending to all this, because Saturn will intervene and send stabilizing vibrations to the full moon.

If your birthday falls on October 16 plus or minus four days, you will feel the effects of this full moon. I tell you this so you won’t feel broadsided by events. Don’t bring up touchy or controversial subjects, and lie low. This is one of those times you have to sit back and observe what goes on. This is not an eclipse, but a full moon, and it seems that something has been brewing under the surface that you will need to discuss and settle now.

By month’s end you will be thinking about your finances, perhaps because the plans you have for your home are mounting up and they appear to be expensive. You may want to find ways to bring in more money, and if so, your timing is perfect. The new moon of October 29will help you earn more, but you must ask for your raise quickly after it appears.

All new moons set up a ribbon of energy that extends approximately ten days, sometimes a day or two longer. However, each passing day brings weaker energy, the reason you will want to schedule a meeting with your boss early in the month. If you are self-employed, be determined to generate new business. If you work on this goal, you have a superb chance of generating solid income.

If you are involved in the arts, you will do especially well, for Neptune will be playing a very prominent and supportive role, and Neptune is the planet of the arts. If you represent artists or actors, or if you are the talent, expect big things to happen.

You have a lot on your plate, so romance will take a back seat to all else that is going on. You do best in matters of love during the last third of the month, when Venus will move into a fire sign – Sagittarius – a sign that blends perfectly with your air-sign Libra element. Venus will remain in Sagittarius from October 18 to November 12, a good long four weeks, enough for you to have fun.

One of your very best days for love will be when Mercury, ruler of your house of true love, and jovial Jupiter will combine energies in Libra on October 11. Next, watch for a truly enchanting day, October 26, when Venus and Jupiter will be in ideal sync. Your guardian planet is Venus, so when she’s talking with Jupiter, the two will cook up plenty of happy news. This would be a great week to be on vacation. If you don’t have a one-and-only romantic partner, then use this lovely day to visit a client in a nearby town, for you will come back with an order or good news of things you will be cooking up together.

Finally, this year Halloween will be exceptionally wonderful. The same sweet imaginative energy that Neptune will sprinkle over the new moon will also be responsible for the wonderful Halloween festivities that will be going on. If you get invited to a party – or if you give one – you will completely enjoy the highly imaginative costumes that will be out and about that night. Just you wait and see!

As a Libra you have been though many trials over the past several years. It may have occurred to you that this must be how grownup life is, filled with heavy responsibilities but not much fun. Who could blame you for feeling that way? However, life can become glorious again, and I suspect that will be proven out in early October.

The universe is about to make a correction and so many frustrations of your past will now begin to evaporate. The September 30 new moon in Libra, the only one of this year set to fall in your sign, marks one of the happiest windows of opportunity of 2016. (This will be doubly so if your birthday falls within five days of this date.)

This new moon represents a portal of energy that lasts ten days, and it will allow you the perfect time to go after something dearly important to you. This goal may be so personal to you that many people around you might not know what it is. Act in the first week of October. You have not had anything this special in years, and with good fortune Jupiter in Libra for the first time since 2004, it would be a shame not to use this moment to go for the gold.

You appear to also be focused on your residence or a family member, for Mars has just recently moved into your home sector on September 27 to stay until November 8. If you want to fix up your space before the holidays, October would be the ideal time to do it. If you need to sign a contract, a work order, or any other important document, do so on October 10 or 11, when Mercury will be beautifully oriented to good luck, profit-oriented Jupiter.

The month’s full moon, October 16, won’t be anyone’s favorite. It’s unstable and unpredictable, and it will fall in your seventh house of partnership ruling both marriage and business partner. Something is reaching critical mass, and the bone of contention with your spouse, business partner, or other collaborator appears to be directed at a member of the family. Or, it may be that you suddenly, without warning, will have to attend to a family member in need. You may feel your partner is acting erratically, which would not help, and you won’t be able to predict your partner’s actions. If friends weigh in their opinions, they will only complicate matters – your friendship sector will be under siege. This suggests a friend could be more of a problem than help.

With seven out of ten heavenly bodies in pioneering cardinal signs, everyone – including you – will be impatient to make progress, and you will settle something important involving you and your partner near October 16. You seem to be done hoping and waiting for things to improve. Although intense, this full moon will clear the air and finalize things once and for all.

One of your best moments will come this month when your ruling planet, Venus, will conjoin Jupiter, both in Libra, October 26. Use this day for scheduling an interview, a launch, a first date – anything that you feel is a day when much will be hanging in the balance for you and will have the edge. It should be a very happy, five-star day, and a welcome one, coming soon after the emotional full moon.

Money may have also been a concern lately, but that too, is improving. The new moon of October 30 will be when you should consider asking for a raise. Think about all the fine contributions you’ve made to the firm, list them, and make your case in the days that closely follow this new moon. If self-employed, you might be able to raise your rates too, so gently test the waters. If you are in a creative field, the new moon’s beam to Neptune in your house of assignments suggests you can now add many original ideas to this project, so describe your plans to the client, and if approved (likely) let rip.
