Virgo Horoscope for August 2016

You are still the celestial favorite, and you have had quite a special year. Jupiter is the planet of great good fortune, and you have had Jupiter at your side for twelve months. Your year with Jupiter in Virgo is coming to an end September 9, at which time you will enter your cycle of financial reward. Almost all the financial bounty you will receive will be related to the seeds you planted from August 2015 to early September 2016. If there is anyone you still need to see to discuss a venture, do it now, while you have Jupiter in Virgo. You won't have Jupiter in your sign again until July 2027. Jupiter is protecting you in a powerful way, whether you are aware of that or not, and you should do all you can to plant the beginning seeds of discussion now. 

Most of my Virgo readers have had a wonderful year. Occasionally I will get a comment from a Virgo reader on Twitter who might say, "This year has been terrible. Nothing is going right, and yet, Susan, you say that this past twelve months should have been special." I feel bad when I hear a reader has been frustrated with a lack of special breaks or good news, and wish I could help that person. I cannot see your entire chart from where I sit, but I do know that every Virgo has been staunchly protected by Jupiter in at least one area of life. 

If you were born with a tough aspect to your Sun at birth, you may have struggled with a new transiting planet in aspect to your Sun, including Jupiter. That doesn't mean you are doomed - not by any means! I have a VERY difficult birth chart with lots of serious squares and oppositions, but those give enormous energy, and that is a big plus. Tough aspects always bring energy - that is the universe helping you! Those hard aspects have never stopped me, and in fact, hard conditions fueled me to work harder. I still maintain you had luck in one specific area, dear Virgo, whether of terms of health, a relationship, home, career, or other area. 

Now Jupiter is packing his bags and is getting ready to move to Libra next month. He has spent almost thirteen months in Virgo and it may be too soon to see how fruitful your past efforts will turn out to be, but you will eventually know as you move forward. 

This month you will get a last-minute second chance to see great happiness. The universe will be sending you two extraordinary aspects that I talked about in my newest book as two five-star days for you in August. ("The Year Ahead Forecast for the Second Half of 2016 into 2017" – for iPad, Kindle, Nook and as a real book). If this year has been great, then the coming aspects that I will outline here will be icing on the cake. If it's not been good for you, you will see two beautiful days when you will have the edge over all others. Either way, you will win. I am getting a little ahead of myself, so let's start at the top, the very beginning of August. 

On August 1, there will be two bright aspects. The first involves the Sun in perfect angle to Saturn, the planet of stability. Saturn happens to be the natural ruler of your solar fifth house of true love, so August 1 should be quite special for romance. Promises made then will last a very long time. If you are single, a date that a friend might set up could prove to work out very well. 

Also on this same day, August 1, Venus and Uranus will be within one-and-a-half tiny degrees of a trine, which is the most heavenly aspect you can possibly get. This day, August 1, might bring you luck through one financial deal, gift, or prize winning because the one you would likely see would come in one chunk. Also, because the eighth house is the house of transformational energy, that house also rules surgery, allowing the surgeon to take out the part of you that you no longer need so that you can get well. Uranus is visiting that house these days, and is in friendly angle to Venus, now in your twelfth house, ruling hospitals and other places of confinement. You might do very well with surgery or by having a different medical procedure. 

The next day, August 2, will bring the new moon in Leo, 11 degrees, to light your solar twelfth house of privacy and healing. Again, the privacy and healing theme will become stronger and be reinforced. This part of your chart rules such places as hospitals, assisted living, nursing homes, rehab centers, and places of physical therapy. (This is also the house of prisons, which I doubt would apply to you or anyone you know.) It may be that this month you will help an elderly relative in some appreciable way in one of the places listed. 

Or you may arrange to have a companion to live with your parent, as we arranged to do for with my Little Mom when she advanced to 88 - we felt she should not have to do grocery shopping or laundry anymore, over her protests that she could still do it. Little Mom was always so cute and funny. I would laugh and hug her when she would protest, and tell her that my sister and I felt it was time for her to be Queen for a Day, every day. She lived near my apartment, and near my sister's too. I was there with Little Mom several times a week, as was my sister. It was fun being there with her. With such strong twelfth house emphasis for you, you may be interacting with medical personnel this month more than usual, for a family member, friend, or for yourself.

The twelfth house also is the house of secrets. It may be that you discover someone's secret, or that you will be working on something that is highly confidential and won't want any prying eyes for the time being. 

Mars is now re-entering Sagittarius on August 2, a place Mars, the action planet, has occupied since March 5 of this year. Sagittarius is on the cusp of your fourth house of home, so your mind as been on your home, property, or family matters, possibly regarding a parent, most of 2016. Mars went retrograde on April 17, but you began to feel the slowdown much earlier than that, and Mars didn't regulate his orbit until he went direct on June 29. It took all of July - and will take until August 22 - for Mars to reach full power. Planets are a little like people, in that they need to come alive after a long slumber. In June and July, Mars had backed into Scorpio, so you had a little relief from all the home-centered thinking, but now it will start up again, and August will bring a lot of progress. Mars won't leave Sagittarius until September 27.

Why would I say August would be your stronger month for home and family related matters? Mercury, Mars' brother, will go retrograde August 30 to September 21, giving September a slow start. Actually, you might enjoy that softer tempo after having had such a busy August. If you need a new laptop, smart phone, TV set, headphones, or digital kitchen appliance, it will be vital that you buy the electronic in August. Mercury rules the moving parts of a machine, and all the electronics. It is never wise to buy these products during Mercury retrograde - you will have buyer's remorse later for any number of reasons. Also, do not sign contracts in the first three weeks of September - the last week of September is when you would be best to schedule that signing.

Money certainly has not always been an easy topic for you, for you have Uranus, the planet of unexpected developments, in your house of other people's money, ruling taxes, credit, bank loans, student loans, and the like. Uranus can unexpectedly make you millions of dollars, or it can unexpectedly give you a very high expense - or both. Uranus is there to teach you to bring both ends to the middle to avoid his extremes, for anything can happen when Uranus is involved, and it usually is something you never considered. In August, financial surprises will be happy ones - watch August 16. On that day, your finances will show unexpected gains. 

On August 18, we have a full moon in Aquarius, 28 degrees, shining in your sixth house of work. It is a sweet one too. It appears you will have a job to complete, and you and your team will be working up to a deadline that will occur August 18 to 22. Or, on this day you may hire someone who will report to you and who will start work near this full moon. You may be sending in a report, moving to new headquarters, or getting new software that will help you do your job more efficiently. August 16 would be a great day to buy a new computer or any electronic product. Finally, it appears that the work you are doing at this time will pay you well, and something about the financial news will surprise you in a very happy way. 

Now we get to the later part of August when two of the best aspects of the year for you will appear, dear Virgo. 

The first aspect is the key one, falling over August 21 and August 22, for at that time, your ruling planet, Mercury will be conjunct Jupiter, the giver of gifts and luck, both in Virgo. (If you recall, Mercury will not retrograde until August 30.) These two planets typically meet once year, but have not met in the constellation of Virgo since September 16, 1992. (They should have met in September 2004, but Jupiter and Mercury skipped Virgo and instead met in early degrees of Libra.) A rare aspect like this is extremely powerful and protective of you. 

Let's talk about how you can use these days, August 21-22. Mercury rules your first and tenth houses of your solar chart, indicating lots of delicious possibilities. First, with the tenth house being activated, your career may bring enormously happy news because your tenth house of honors, awards, and achievement will be brought into the conversation. You may get a promotion or new job, or if self-employed, you may bring in a prestigious new client who will give you regular work. This would also be a perfect day to schedule a job interview, give a speech, or give a creative or sales presentation. If you need to hand in a manuscript, do it on August 22. If you need to sign a contract, by all means sign it then, for it would be the very best day in a DECADE to do it. 

The fact that Jupiter and Mercury will meet in your sign of Virgo - and activating the first house of personality - suggests that something you dearly want will come to you. Your confidence will be very high on this day and the surrounding days, and you might want to do something to improve your looks. 

The next five-star day will arrive on August 27, when Venus and Jupiter will conjoin, making this a rare and wonderful day. Again, financial news will make you happy because Venus is the natural ruler of your second house of earned income. Venus also rules your ninth house of travel, so if you look for travel packages, you should do very well. If you are already set to travel with a person you love, you will find Saturday, August 27, divine and very romantic. If you are single and traveling, you might meet someone on the airplane or in another not-typical way.

Venus will be in Virgo all month, starting August 5 and ending August 29. This will be a perfect time to start shopping for new clothes for the coming season. New clothes will be in the stores, and Venus will help you find just the right items to get you compliments. August is also a good time to change your hairstyle (men too) or for women readers to buy new makeup colors. Venus in Virgo will make you very magnetic, to a degree you might not be aware. When Mars enters Capricorn on September 27 until November 8, your love life will be in full swing. You have so much to celebrate!

Summary

The new moon, August 2, will light your house of secrets, so you may be working on something highly confidential and need to keep things under wraps for several months. The emphasis on confidentiality could work in another way, when you might decide to see a psychotherapist to gain clarity on a topic that has troubled you so that you can feel whole and in balance again. 

The theme of healthy mind and healthy body and spirit will run through most of the month. The month will be quiet, so you will have time to make those medical appointments you've been meaning to schedule with your doctor or dentist. You will have time to have your eyes checked to see if your prescription has changed, do your mammogram or prostrate exam as the case may be, or have a colonoscopy. 

Your health will become more of a priority at the full moon August 18, in Aquarius. You may decide that this is the right time to schedule a hospital exam, procedure, or surgery that you've put off. If so, schedule it in August. Uranus will be friendly to this full moon, a good sign that you'll likely have a happy resolve, assuming you've done your research and have faith in your doctor. 

At work, you may see co-workers come and go, or a trusted assistant leave. Certainly an important project is nearing completion and you will have to pace yourself as not to become overworked and overtired - this project will require a strenuous effort. If you need help, you won't have time to hire and train new recruits. It would be best to hire after Mercury, your ruler, is finished retrograding anyway. (Mercury will retrograde from August 30 to September 22.) You can interview candidates all month, but you would be best to put off choosing the one(s) you will hire you want - name your choices in late September. 

At home, you may want to move forward but be frustrated with delays especially on or very near August 24. Mars will align with Saturn, and this is a stop-go aspect. Take a deep breath - better days are due all month, as you will soon see. With Mars causing noise in your home, you may have workmen there, you may be moving, or you may be entertaining up a storm and have guests in your guest room (or on the sofa), too.

One of very best days of the month will be August 22, when your ruler, Mercury will meet with Jupiter in Virgo - a truly glorious and exceedingly rare aspect. Although these two planets will align again, this aspect won't happen again in Virgo for 12 years. This could be an exceptional day for your career or for anything dearly important to you, personal or professional.

The other stellar day, equally rare, will be August 27 when Venus will align perfectly with Jupiter in Virgo, and this date falls over a weekend. You may travel to a distant city, or you may discover that a generous check is heading your way too. You will be ultra-alluring and magnetic too over this weekend - this is your time to shine. If you are attached, you can plan a surprise for your partner. If you are single, circulate or schedule this day for a first date. If you hope for a baby, news should be exciting. If you have had problems with conception, see a fertility doctor in the days leading to August 27 as the aspect builds. 

Next month brings an eclipse in Virgo September 1 and in your marriage / partnership sector September 16. Life is changing for you, but always for the better.
